Kevin Comics

Hello, Knucklehead!

Hope you had a good week. Mine was quite… eventful (as you'll see below). Unrelated: Just wanted to take a moment to thank you for signing up for and reading this newsletter. It means a lot to me.

NEW COMIC

At a Loss

At a Loss
So I was laid off from BuzzFeed last week. After 10 years and over 1 billion views, they finally kicked the old guy out of the party. But not before I got one last joke in.

I'm still processing life without a job that was such a big part of my identity for a decade. Heck, odds are you started following me because of my work at BuzzFeed (Draw-Off in specific). So for that, I'm grateful.

I don't know exactly what's next. But I plan to keep making comics at least. And finish my children's book. And maybe pick up some other projects I let slip 👀. Whatever I make, as a newsletter subscriber, you'll be the first to know.

Also: in case you missed it, this week's comic is based off the infamous Ctrl+Alt+Del strip / meme "Loss." Here's an explainer of it if you're interested (trigger warning: pregnancy loss).

MY FIRST BUZZFEED VIDEO

12 Reasons Why Cat People Are Crazy Awesome

In honor of the end of my tenure at BuzzFeed, here's my very first BuzzFeed video from 2013. It's about cats (of course). And let's be honest here, it's just a slideshow. The same text + video slideshow format that soon came to choke your Facebook feed. So if I contributed anything to the internet at large, I suppose it's that? Sorry.

I'm not a cat person, btw. I made this video a) to show I was a company man, and b) to publish something my first week. I then went on to make over 350 videos for YouTube alone. Here's all of them if you're interested.

My final BuzzFeed video is a TikTok for our new (and now defunct) channel The Blammo Network. Which is a bummer because we were just starting to get some momentum. But that's life in the content mines, I suppose.

Anyway. Thanks for enduring all this BuzzFeed talk this week. Back to our regularly scheduled foolishness next time.
Well that's it for this time. As always, I love your feedback. So if you have any, please reply to this message or hit me up on Twitter or Instagram.

Have a rich and full-flavored week, Knucklehead.
